Goodie is the sweetest 10 year old we’ve ever met. At least, we think he’s 10. In profile, he looks about 50. That’s because he’s also the biggest worrier we’ve ever met. He worries about everything: The fate of mankind. Global warming. Did we turn off the oven before we left?… Does he have spinach in his teeth? But you gotta love him. TuTu is the family pet and Goodie’s sidekick. He is a bird of unknown origin, although we’re pretty sure he came from South America via New Jersey. TuTu wears a skirt. No one knows why. He just does. With TuTu, what you see is what you get. He is nice, but not too nice. Don’t expect him to go all soft and mushy. He prefers sarcasm, can be standoffish and is the laziest bird known to mankind. OK, actually, he’s a little egocentric. But you always know where you stand with TuTu and he always rises to the occasion. TOP
Plum is Goodie’s Mom. She’s a dear and a sweetheart rolled into one. Plum is as nice as Goodie but doesn’t worry nearly as much. She doesn’t sweat the small stuff (except for maybe how her hair looks at any given moment). She is nurturing and kind and encouraging of “all your many talents and gifts.” Of her own…she is far less certain. But don’t get us wrong: Plum is no pushover. Just ask her kids. TOP
Guy is Goodie’s Dad. And what a good guy he is. He tries so hard. He tries hard at work. He tries hard at home. He’s pretty nice to everyone and doesn’t ask for much in return. Just a cold beer and quiet during the game. Sometimes he feels like a stranger in his own home. Still, he doesn’t complain about much. Except for maybe the amount of closet space Plum lets him have or the kid’s shoe that he keeps tripping over in the *#%* hallway!! Other than that, he’s pretty easy going. TOP
Fidget is Goodie’s younger brother. He’s 2 or 3 or 5. We’re not sure. There’s basically only one thing Fidget is interested in and that’s having fun. He “sees fun” everywhere and in everything. If you don’t provide it, he makes his own fun. He’s game for anything and is far more of a daredevil than Goodie. Fidget can usually be found riding his tricycle off the roof or hanging upside down by one foot from the top of the jungle gym. This just gives Goodie one more thing to worry about. Fidget knows this and likes to taunt Goodie in this way. TOP
Petal is Goodie’s teenage sister. She’s smart and pretty but doesn’t know it, which is probably the best kind of smart and pretty to be. She walks around saying things like, “You’re so annoying” and “That’s so random” and “Whatever,” and acts like she doesn’t care about anything or anyone, but we’re pretty sure she cares about everything. And everyone. TOP
Blue is Goodie’s teenage brother. Blue has really good hair. Other than that…he’s pretty clueless. TOP
